Project Overview:

Development of a unique e-commerce and membership platform centered around the EA Dogid custom plugin, built to be translation-ready and link physical NFC collars to individual, subscription-gated pet profiles.

Technical Stack:

WordPress (CMS), WooCommerce (E-commerce), Custom PHP Plugin (EA Dogid), Custom MySQL Tables, Restrict Content Pro (RCP) (Membership), Elementor (Page Builder), Woolentor (WooCommerce Add-on), WPML (Bilingual Solution), NFC Hash Code (URL Mapping).

Objective:

To build a robust, scalable system that manages product sales, handles high-volume data imports, and securely gates pet profile data behind a recurring subscription model using a custom integration, and provides comprehensive administrative control over user-uploaded content and membership limits.

Challenges:

Custom Data Architecture: Designing and implementing a custom CPT (ea-dogid) with its own dedicated database table to efficiently handle and store thousands of pet profile records.
Integration Complexity: Developing a seamless custom plugin that maps the physical NFC collar’s hash code URL to the CPT post, while enforcing mandatory subscription status via Restrict Content Pro (RCP).
Data Scalability: Implementing an efficient solution for the administration to bulk import large lists of pre-generated collar hash code posts.
Bilingual Implementation: Ensuring a cohesive and fully translated experience across all custom and third-party elements using WPML. Multilingual Readiness: Ensuring all custom plugin strings and notifications are ready for translation via standard WordPress tools (e.g., PO/MO files).

Outcome:

A fully functional, integrated, and translation-ready E-commerce and Membership solution that successfully automates the link between a physical product (NFC collar) and a paid digital service (pet profile), providing a new and scalable standard for pet safety and data management, delivered with a comprehensive set of administrative and multilingual features.

Key Achievements:

Custom Plugin & Data Architecture: Built the custom EA Dogid plugin creating a dedicated Custom Post Type (CPT) and its own custom database table for scalable management of thousands of unique pet profiles.
Membership Limit Management: Developed custom functionality to manage the number of public profiles allowed per user, directly correlating the limit to their Restrict Content Pro (RCP) membership level.
NFC-to-Profile Mapping: Engineered the logic to map the NFC collar’s hash code directly to the CPT post URL, facilitating instant, dedicated profile access upon scanning.
Subscription & Gating Logic: Seamlessly integrated the custom plugin with Restrict Content Pro (RCP) to enforce mandatory subscriptions for all profile data access.
Internationalization (i18n): The custom plugin was developed to be 100% translation-ready, utilizing WordPress’s native localization functions to support the site’s bilingual setup (WPML).
Bulk Data Handling: Implemented CSV/Excel bulk import functionality for up to 1,000 unique Dog IDs, streamlining the process of adding new inventory.
E-commerce & Theme Development: Custom-built the entire e-commerce theme using Elementor and Woolentor, delivering a responsive, customized visual experience with comprehensive bilingual functionality via WPML.
